More than 700 people showed up for a fun run/walk/skip around West Lake Winona to help stomp out stigma and raise funds for mental health awareness and education. The race started with the Winona Fire Department soaking participants as the crossed the start line. Solomon’s friends and teammates were posted around the lake with Super Soakers to soak the participants as they passed. The grand finale of the walk was a 34-foot blowup slip-n-slide. Post race fun included a large blow-up obstacle course, a bounce house and a dunk tank, music and food. Participants enjoyed a day of physical fun, community building and awareness. All of the proceeds from the race are being used to provide programming for mental health awareness, suicide prevention and celebrating diversity.
